ABOUT
PROXY SERVERS
- What are proxy servers?
Proxy servers acts as middlemen between you and the
websites that you visit. You are essentially requesting
pages from the proxy server, which then requests those
pages from the website you want to view. After retrieving
the pages, the proxy server sends them to your browser.
For you, the process is transparent and you can surf
the web normally.
- How can proxy servers help protect your
Internet privacy?
Because the proxy server is the entity that is requesting
the pages from the website that you are "visiting",
your IP address does not have to be available to that
website. Proxy servers offer varying levels of "anonymity",
meaning that the amount of information about you that
is relayed will vary from one proxy server to the next.
The IP Changer Software only includes servers that keep
your IP anonymous. You can also use a scanner
to retrieve and verify anonymous proxy information yourself.
- How can I send anonymous email?
If you are surfing with an anonymous proxy server, and
then use a web-based email service to send email, you
will significantly increase the "anonymity"
of that email. Obviously, if your email includes personal
information, this will defeat your efforts.
- How do I start using anonymous proxy servers?
You can quickly jump between proxy servers by using
our IP Address Changer tool,
which is pre-configured with information on 15 anonymous
proxy servers in 15 different countries. You can also
easily add your own proxies from other lists or retrieved
using a scanner.
